The growing business prospects of films, Tv commercials, video games and cartoons have made training programs in 3D animation and visual effects a worthwhile education option.
While the use of CGI scenes began in the late 1970s, what marked the arrival of what has become very common in today’s visual effects is the 1993 movie Jurassic Park where 3D CGI dinosaurs were convincingly integrated into scenes with live actors. Now, that is not the exception, it’s the norm.
Very often, sets, helicopters, buildings, and explosions are commonly created through the use of computer-generated graphics that are composited into scenes.
Three-dimensional character animation has largely replaced the traditional hand-drawn animated characters. In fantasy-genre films, such as the Star War sequel trilogy, 300, Sin City, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, actors were mostly shot in blue or green rooms to have 2D- and 3D-rendered sets replacing the screen backgrounds.
We have adopted Autodesk’s Oscar Winning software Maya as the standard teaching tools for all our Animation training, consequently Autodesk 3Ds Max will only be offer on request.
Maya is taught as the main course in most animation schools around the world including the prestigious New York Films Academy and many other schools in South Africa and India. For a better career prospect here and outside Nigeria we think learning Maya offers better career prospects for our students.
However, students can request to take 3Ds Max in place of Maya if they wish to, we have capable hands to deliver on this too.
Animators, Modeller and Rigger work primarily in the following industries:
